Tuberculosis Case Notification in 2011


National Tuberculosis Control Program, Bangladesh informed that in 2011, 98942 new Smear Positive cases (SS+ve), 3906 Relapse cases, 21915 Smear Negative (SS-ve) cases, 27334 Extra-Pulmonary TB (EPTB) cases and 3460 other forms of cases were diagnosed.

The proportion of smear positive notified cases was high in 2011 in Bangladesh.

National Tuberculosis Control Program, Bangladesh informed that the treatment success was 91% (cure 90% and complete 1%) and unusual outcomes 8% (died 4%, failure 1%, defaulted 2% and transfer out 2%) among Smear Positive Pulmunary Cases (SS+ve) cohort (2010).

Bangladesh Celebrates World TB Day 2014

World TB Day 2014 rally



A colorful rally brought out on the World TB Day 24 March, 2014 in the morning. The rally started from the front of National Museum, Shahbagh, Dhaka and ended in front of Doel Intersection, Dhaka parading through different streets of the cities. Carts, rickshaws (local vehicles) and microphone were used to inform people about Tuberculosis (TB) and creates demands for TB Services in the country. 

The theme of the World TB Day 2014 in English was Reach The 3 Millions. FIND. TREAT. CURE TB. The Bengali was  যক্ষ্মার সেবা সবার তরে, পৌছে দেব ঘরে ঘরে |
